Where is LeBron James going to play basketball the 2018-2019 NBA season?

It’s the burning question that has been looming since the beginning of this past season. Ever since rumors that he and the front office of the Cavaliers weren’t getting along, they made multiple moves before the trade deadline and seemed to make the moves based on what LeBron wanted and what he thought would get them another NBA Championship.

Give credit where credit is due, the team struggled just as everyone thought they would, but LeBron James was absolutely amazing the entire regular season and then into the playoff run all the way to the NBA Finals where some people thought they wouldn’t even get.

But then the unthinkable happens; they get swept in the Finals.

LeBron's last Finals appearance in a Cavs jersey?

I know that’s a sore subject for some of you. “He couldn’t even win one game?” I thought he would win at least one too.

But hey, it’s over now, and now we get to all speculate where we think he will end up going in free agency, if anywhere at all.

Let’s look at the odds.

According to Odds Shark, the LA Lakers are the favorite to sign LeBron, followed by the 76ers, Rockets and Cavs.

Boom! It's getting closer to #LeBron's next chapter. Where do YOU want him to go? #Sixers x #Cavs x #Rockets x #Lakers

They have the Spurs in the fifth best position, but I think that’s just a nod to Pop and his greatness, I highly doubt he’s going to San Antonio.

I think we have to take all things into consideration, but not weigh one thing more than the other.

He’s said that it will all be based on what he and his family agree upon, which I completely respect, after all, that’s what comes first.

But after getting swept in the Finals, when you just finished arguably your best season/postseason ever, you got to think he still wants to chase a ring.

Right?

If he wants to win a ring/rings, you have to go with him either going to Philly or Houston given their current roster. I think Philly is the best option being that they’re in the eastern conference and he runs the east. Houston has a great core that would have probably taken out the Warriors in the WCF if CP3 didn’t get hurt, just my opinion.

Then there’s the possibility of Paul George joining Bron in LA with the Lakers. Now obviously none of us know for sure if PG can play alongside LeBron, but he looked dang good alongside Russell Westbrook in OKC this past season, and Westbrook and Bron play a very similar form of basketball in that they are a ball dominant force that needs several touches to make an impact. Paul George would have to get in where he fits in if this were to pan out.

In my personal opinion, I think Bron is going to LA. Taking into consideration his best friend in Dwyane Wade saying that his choice is going to be a ‘lifestyle’ choice and not a ‘superteam’ choice, I think that tells it all. He has business ties in LA, Nike headquarters is right down the street in Beaverton, Oregon, and his family will be living in LA, it all makes too much sense.

We have plenty of time to speculate and hear more stories about it that may change others and my opinion on the matter, but until then, I’m anticipating LeBron James being a Los Angeles Laker next season.
