Have you ever been out with a friend trying to figure out what to do for the evening? 

Well, Snapchat has you covered. The mobile app just added a new map feature- the Snap Map- that allows people to see your whereabouts.

All you have to do is open up Snapchat, zoom out on the app’s main camera, and browse the map. Tap a nearby location and see your friends sharing pictures and videos from different events. Did you know David and his friends were at at the county fair enjoying some cotton candy and watching live music? And what about Hannah? She’s in France visiting the infamous Eiffel Tower! Take a look inside their world!

If your friends are sharing their locations, their ‘actionmojis’ will appear on the map.

This new feature isn’t about trying to navigate to get to a particular place like you would holding a map in the car. It’s about seeing what you’re friends are up to and discovering new adventures that you may not have known existed.

There have been some privacy and security concerns surrounding this Snap Map. But there’s a way around that. Protect yourself with the feature’s ‘Ghost Mode’ that allows you to choose if you want to share your location with friends.
